Available Parameters
  • Search Terms : String : Match only those What's New entries where the Search is in either the Description or Topic. Does not match against URL of entry. Case insensitive, but must match exactly.
  • Topic Prefix : String : Match only those What's New entries that have a topic prefix (ex. PLANTS or Mushrooms) matching the given string. Case insensitive.
  • Location / URL : String : Match only those What's New entries that have a link URL matching the given string. Case insensitive. Search / Topic / Location are all cumulative.
  • Dates : If no dates are set, Period defaults to "LastMonth".
  • Period : String : Set of predefined strings. Valid values: LastMonth, Last 2 Months, and LastYear.

  • The following Parameters work for both HTML and RSS output.
  • Max : Integer : Value indicating how many entries to show at maximum
  • Section: String : Which sub-section of erowid to include. Must be one of the pre-defined set or an error will result.
  • ShowMinorUpdates : If set (or set to non-zero value), causes even minor updates to show up in the list.
  • Y1 : Integer : Year to start showing. Defaults to current year.
  • Y2 : Integer : Year to stop at. Defaults to Y1 if none set.
  • M1 : Integer : Month during which to start showing entries. Valid values: 1-12.
  • M2 : Integer : Month to stop at. Defaults to 12 if M1 is not set, Defaults to M1 if M1 is set. Valid values: 1-12
  • D1 : Integer : Day of month to start. Defaults to 1.
  • D2 : Integer : Day of month to end. Defaults to the last day of M2
  • T1 : iso8601 String : Date/Time string matching iso8601 format to start showing.
  • T2 : iso8601 String : Date/Time string matching iso8601 format to end showing.

Feb 8, 2006 (3.0) - In addition to a lot of back-end changes, the main features added to the "What's New" system with this update are:
  • Entries are now searchable by title, topic, and url.
  • Users can now set a start and end date for searches.
  • Smarter RSS feed, allows for searches against the What's New database to allow 'subscribing' to various topics.
  • What's New entries from 1997-2000 added to database.
