It was not unusual for new titles to last only a few issues, with funding difficult to come by, and readers nervous about signing up. This timeline traces the evolution of underground psychedelic information.

DEA's NADDIS System Compiled by drug war prisoner Leonard Pickard, this "Guide for Attorneys, the Courts, and Researchers" explores the history and scope of the semi-secret database that has become one of the most widely used tools in drug law enforcement.

A Report of Mushroom Intoxication from 1914 A detailed first-hand experience report from 1914 of the ingestion of intoxicating mushrooms identified as Panaeolus papilionaceus. A man and woman have a six-hour experience including strong visual effects, laughter, the "irresistible impulse to run and jump", and some alarming visions.

Although we wish Ken Burns and Lynn Novick's "Prohibition" series had drawn more parallels between alcohol and drug prohibition, the Erowid Crew have been enjoying this detailed retelling of the rise and fall of alcohol Prohibition in the United States. With its tragic and doomed failure, the point-by-point parallels with modern recreational drug prohibition are painfully obvious. Worth watching, with lots of great photos and quotes.

Suggestions for how to take good photos of psychoactives Photos of psychoactive plants and chemicals are important to Erowid. This Ask Erowid question covers some key points for taking quality pictures for submitting to Erowid, including: file types, image sizes, lighting, composition and background, depth of field, and the importance of photos that are crisply and clearly in focus.

   Information on this substance -- the most commonly used of the NBOMe series -- continues to be tentative, but some trends are evident. There are reports that effects can be unpredictable.

   Since the mid-1990s, over a dozen publications focused entirely on the topic of Salvia divinorum have come out in print; here are descriptions of three of the top single-author books about this fascinating plant.
3. Factsheet on Drug Checking in Europe
   A FAQ-style, introductory report about analysis of street drugs by Trans European Drug Information (TEDI), an initiative funded by the EU. TEDI notes that the World Health Organization has endorsed Drug Checking as an "essential aspect of public health policy".
