The journey began approx 8 am. I woke up with the notion that I was going to give it a try, seeing as I had a little time to kill. I had done some research but had little in the way of expectations, except that this experience may in some ways be similar to that of marijuana. The pile I smoked could be compacted to something probably about the size of half a peanut. I inhaled this quantity easily with one single pull. Not much in the way of smoke came out, but I noticed a small tickle in the throat. After blowing the smoke out of the window I began to arrange the room in a manner that might be more appropriate for a trip that would last an unknown amount of time, such as turning off the lights, putting lighter and such away, and the trip began. Admittedly, far more quickly than expected.

I noticed a disorientation, such as not really sure whether I was coming or going, but this stayed at a slight degree and was manageable. After the first effects came so strong I chose to lay down on the bed and see where things headed. I am well practiced in the ways of mood and mild alteration. I've done my share of illegal narcotics and legal substances that enhance the mind. My most wild experiences have actually been with DXM, this just became a close second.

I had the sensation of traveling in a moving vehicle. The strange thing about it was the only things I was aware of were things in my peripheral vision, only things that I couldn't actually focus on. I could identify what these things passing by were, but I could not actually interpret any meaning beyond that. For instance, I imagined buildings were passing by, by couldn't with certainty make that assurance. This moving vehicle I was in headed forwards towards more uncertain shapes and colors which began to form into these metallic/ mirrored looking spheres. Each of these spheres contained something from my peripheral vision. However, now these spheres contained more than just what I had as a visual sensation, and expanded into various other parts of the mind.

I was having this experience as a sort of vision in my mind, a vision that became more clear with my eyes closed. The strange thing about this experience was that despite having such intense separations from reality, I was still very conscious in my mind and could clearly interpret what I was experiencing.

I stared at the door to my room. I remember first deciding that what I was experiencing was 'peripheral', and wrote some notes down on a piece of paper. My cognitive abilities remained strangely acute. I not only interpreted my experiences as 'peripheral', but I was able to write that down and know with certainty what I wrote made sense and was spelled correctly. This was not similar at all to DXM.

After making these notes I sat back and found myself locked in an unusual position, blocking the sun from my window with one hand and propped up facing the door with the other. I seemed to be in this position for a while during my next experience. I was aware that I was looking at the door, and had this awareness slip into some scrambling and blurriness, only to quickly return to an awareness. It seemed that this 'slip' was repeating itself. I would go from being aware, to losing some sense of reality. This slip was slowing down. It would take longer and longer for reality to come back, and when it did it seemed to be fading. I became certain my grip on reality was quickly disintegrating. My breathing became shallow.

I got the sense that I was dying. My grip on reality was steadily fading, and who knows when it would stop? Was I moments from completely slipping into oblivion? This slowing, rocking back and forth from being in my room to being in 'nothingness' eventually slipped into my vision of metallic balls containing various parts of my consciousness. I was now less aware of where I was and more involved in this visual experience. The metallic balls formed a grid pattern which was expanding and growing. More of these balls were appearing and they took on a new cylinder type shape and were moving around amongst this space that had nothing else in it. I was still able to comprehend my experience, and decided I was watching this chemical slowly dissect my brain. Each sphere contained part of my brain and it was being removed, one thing at a time.

All this was happening as I continued to feel this slowing down of things. I can only imagine death.

I was trying with force now to regain my grip on reality. I remember wondering how long this would last for. As I pulled myself out of the grips of this vision of my own separation, I had the sensation of traveling in a vehicle again. Perhaps a train or a car. I opened my eyes and had the realization that I was in my room. I remember repeating to myself 'Don't forget, you are in your room', over and over. Unless I kept my eyes open I wasn't quite convinced I was in my room though.

My sense of reality began to return around 1030 am, I remember thinking how awful this was. As colorful and intense as this experience may appear, it was actually quite terrifying. I was certain I was seeing my mind be pulled apart and contained by some unknown thing, and was also certain my grip on reality was steadily declining to some unknown state. I was either dying or losing my grip on what is real and what is not. This is not anything like marijuana. This drug seemed 'man-made' to me, not natural or mellow.
