What are the effects and dosage of 5-Meo-DIPT and 5-MeO-DMT?
Q: I was wondering if could provide me with some basic knowledge of these materials because I keep finding mixed answers about the following:

*Diisopropyl-5-Methoxy Tryptamine

*Dimethyl-5-Methoxy Tryptamine

Are these the same as 5-meo-Dipt and 5-meo-DMT?
How much is recommened as a safe dosage?
What are the effects?

I really do appreciate your time.

A: Yes, the compounds you listed are 5-MeO-DIPT and 5-MeO-DMT, though to be chemically accurate, they should be preceeded by an "N,N-" (indicating the dialkyl groups are on the nitrogen).

The effects of 5-MeO-DIPT have been reported to be quite varying. Some people really enjoy it, while others find it uninteresting. It has been said that set and setting play an important role in the experience of this drug (of course, as with others, but this drug seems particularly sensitive to it). It has been reported as a friendly drug, although some people have experience intestinal discomfort, mild nausea, and/or mild diarrhea. It is generally reported as not being visual, except in higher doses. Shulgin does not get them at about 15 mg in TiHKAL (5-MeO-DIPT Entry). I have heard 15-20 mg described as a basic starting dose, although one should always judge their experience level and sensitivity to tryptamines before jumping in to the more obscure tryptamines. I have heard of people taking up to 50 mg (25 x 2, separated by about 2 hours) without any significant negative effects.

As for 5-MeO-DMT, effects are reported as powerful, yet lacking visuals or other sensory effects (in the sense of pattern-like effects). Higher doses can dissolve the world/universe in front of your eyes and wrap one's brain around insights into reality, though seemingly not as poignant as those reached off of DMT. Some people find 5-MeO-DMT more relaxing than DMT, less terrifying, while others have called it "chemical terror". Dosages are quite low (3-15 mg smoked) and reports of overdose have been mostly scary, with some gems, so cautioun is advised, starting at the lower doses.

You may want to read up on these, and other tryptamines, in TiHKAL
