Q: a friend made some mushroom tea which turned out very nicely, since we had plenty, we decided to save it, however several days later, a mysterious white substance began to form in the tea. we decided not to drink the rest. do you have any idea what this is, or know how long shroom tea stays good for.

A: If you notice white material growing in the tea, this is most likely mold....time to throw out the tea.

Mushroom tea should last about as long other juices or teas. In an open container they can grow mold within a very short period of time...a couple of days. Kept in the refrigerator in a sealed container they should last several days with no problem.
