What substance does the slang term "reds" refer to?
Q: i was wondering what are "reds" as in the grateful dead lyric "what in the world ever happened to sweet jane, living on REDS, vitamin c and cocaine"? an answer would be greatly appreciated

A: "Reds" was a slang term used for Seconal (sodium quinalbarbitone) which came in red capsules. Seconal was one of the more popular recreational barbiturates when they were more readily available in the 60's and 70's.
