Is it possible that Peyote was the "fruit" in the garden of eden?
Q: Is it possible the Peyote, although a cactus, was the "fruit" that God warned Adam and Eve not to eat?

A: I guess this depends on your religious beliefs... but for what its worth, archeologists think that the Garden of Eden (or at least the historical place the legend is based on) was located in Mesopotamia, which is now southern Iraq. Peyote is only native to Mexico and the Southwest United States (map showing native range at bottom of this page). But hey, if you believe that Eden and the Adam and Eve story were real, then who's to say there's no peyote in Eden? So I guess you'll have to figure out your own answer.
