“Some in vitro effects of chlorpromazine, lysergic acid diethylamide, and 5-hydroxytryptamine on the respiration of rat brain.”.
J. Amer. Pharm. Ass. (Sc.Ed.). 1959;48:251.
Abstract
The in vitro oxygen uptake of rat brain homogenates was markedly inhibited by chlorpromazine and slightly inhibited by 5-hydroxytryptamine. . LSD did not alter brain respiration in vitro or affect the inhibition induced by chlorpromazine or 5-HT. . Chlorpromazine i.p. did not alter brain 5-HT levels or brain respiration.
