Phalaris aquatica (as P. tuberosa) has been reported to be around 80% water by weight. [Frahn & O'Keefe 1971 found that 12 kg by fresh weight yielded approximately 2.4 kg dry weight.]

Phalaris arundinacea strains were reported with 65-81% water by weight by Barnes et al. 1971
