On a Saturday night I decided to make a wormwood tea, having read about its so called 'psychoactive effects'. I doubted it because this herb is very popular here in Brazil and its use is common, especially among old people, who drink it to cure fever and worms in the stomach, and they never said a thing about its side effects.
I had not eaten anything for about 4 hours, so I had an empty stomach, when I decided to go to my back yard and take about a teaspoon of my wormwood tree's leaves (Oh God!, the leaves are so tiny!). I boiled a cup of water and made tea with it, and drank it. The taste was very bitter, but not bad at all. Actually its taste is very nice and its smell is simply divine! I did not put sugar or honey.
T1: 00:20 - AFTER about only twenty minutes, I felt funny, can't describe exactly what it was like. I think I saw colors brighter than usual, I felt like I was swimming in a green-water-swimming-pool all the time for some reason, and I got really relaxed and could philosophize about mostly anything.
T1 : 1:00 - I was still feeling 'something' very subtly and decided to make another cup of tea. Same dosage. Drank it.
T2: 1:20 - ABOUT twenty minutes after the second dosage, I was convinced this plant had entheogen properties. I went into a trance state, I lay on a couch and started thinking about myself in a very introspective manner for a long time. I was mumbling nonsense on the couch, talking to myself, but it made sense to me at the time. I was in a deep meditation about my life and solutions to my problems seemed to pop up naturally. I felt really nice and really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end.
T2: 2:00 - I fried and egg and had rice and beans for dinner. I went to bed and slept. I guess this was about 10PM. I had a dream in which I had 7 seeds, and they all germinated, and it were rare seeds with difficult germination, the Atropa belladonna seeds.
Conclusion: I liked this plant a lot and I am sure I will try it again someday. It is as mild psychoactive as coffee, I would say.
