I've used kava kava before but it had been over a year since the last time. I remember it being a really nice mellow buzz, especially when combined with a few beers. So I tried it again, and the next day my stomach and chest had some little itchy red spots.

Another week or two went by and it was Friday night after a terrible week at work. I wanted to get fairly looped and so I used a high dose. At work the next morning I had hives pretty much everywhere, waist to neck. I didn't live far from work, so I had to walk back home, it was nearly 100 degrees and I was so red and itchy by the time I got home and starting downing benadryl. It felt a bit better by evening so I didn't go to the doctor. But I'm pretty certain that I've developed an allergy to the stuff.
