Five Hours of Nausea
Citation:   Surface Warrior. "Five Hours of Nausea: An Experience with Kratom (exp83339)". Jan 4, 2017.

T+ 0:00
1 glass oral Alcohol - Beer/Wine
  T+ 1:00 2 cups oral Coffee
  T+ 3:00 3 g oral Kratom (extract)
  T+ 8:25 50 mg oral Pharms - Trazodone
After two disappointing experiences (read, no effects, whatsoever) with Kratom in the past, once purchasing 3g from a 'Smart Shop' in Amsterdam and once purchasing 12g from a well-know online retailer, I had written the stuff off. While ordering another product from a smaller online vendor, he convinced me that his 15x Bali Kratom was the real deal and sent me a 5g trial sample.

I am a 38 y.o. non-smoking Male, in decent shape, and was in good health and mood the evening I decided to give Kratom another shot. I had consumed a glass of beer about three hours prior to taking the Kratom and two cups of coffee an hour after that.

At 4:20 p.m., I mixed roughly 3g of the powder with some warm milk, sweetened with stevia. I stirred and drank the mixture in about ten minutes.
T+0:30 I notice some lethargy and a slight heavy feeling.
T+0:45 A slight feeling of dizziness and nausea begin and increase over the the next twenty minutes.
T+1:00-5:00 Once the sick feeling reached its peak, it remained at roughly the same level but with occasional waves of extreme nausea occurring once every 30-45 minutes. I also felt slightly sedated yet restless at the same time. I was jittery and my hands trembled off and on throughout.

I spent the next four hours alternating between lying on the floor attempting to watch TV to distract myself and nervously pacing through my home. My heart-rate remained constant and normal during the entire episode, although occasionally I felt a distinct tightness in my chest. I ate dinner, as the nausea seemed no better or worse when I ate. Although I never vomited I was very uncomfortable throughout the evening.

T+5:15 At about 9:45 p.m. I felt slightly better and decided to go to sleep. I took 50mg of trazodone to help me along and was asleep by 10 p.m.
T+15:00 I awoke at 7:00 a.m. feeling much better but still not 100% nausea-free. As I am writing this at 9:15 a.m. I still feel like my stomach is tender, despite having a large breakfast and some coffee.

All in all, I found this to be an experience without redeeming qualities. Maybe I took too much, although from reading other online reports, I don't think so, or maybe I am just sensitive to Kratom. Although I read many glowing reports of Kratom's effects, I would say that unless I am willing to risk an entire day being ruined by dizziness and nausea, I might want to stay away from this herb.
