1.75 g oral Mushrooms (tea)
    smoked Cannabis (plant material)
BODY WEIGHT: 120 lb
While in the midst of the mushroom world I observed an interesting effect that I feel deserves more exploration. A few of my friends and I decided to have a picnic in the state park near our home town. My friends, not being the types to enjoy strong psychedelics, opted for a blunt while I drank a half eighths worth of mushroom tea. What followed was a typical low dose tryptamine buzz which I feel other users have described adequately in other reports. However, something which I have never heard of before occurred as we sat down to eat our sandwiches under a tree. It was a warm summer day, and yellow jackets and other types of wasps were out in force. They commenced to annoy the living shit out of my friends, swooping at their heads and alighting on their sandwiches. After about 10 minutes of this I realize that no bugs were even coming near me! It was absolutely incrediable and in no way just my imagination. My friends had an average of five or six wasps focused on them at any given time, and I was able to eat in peace despite being only a few feet away. Now I do know enough about the scientific method to be aware that correlation does not imply causation, but I have never experienced something like this while sober. My (uneducated) guess is that some component of the mushrooms was being exuded by my skin, and the bugs were smelling something that they interpreted as poison. Further research is needed, and may lead to shroom based bug repellant! (haha I doubt it but who knows?) I am anxious to learn if this is an isolated incident or not.
