WHO I AM

A 53-year male with quite a few experiences under my belt. I am familiar with several well-known psychedelics and a few less widespread ones. I am a bit of a hardhead with all the phenethylamines that I tried (and I tried many), and with most tryptamines. I use no prescription drugs on a regular basis, with the exception of a nootropic (20-30 mg Noopept daily). I avoid even OTC meds like aspirin unless I have real need.

SET AND SETTING

New Year's Eve at a friend of a friend's. I don't know the guy too well, but I'm told he's quite cool (and he is). I do know over 50% of the few guests there. I'm there because of a friend who extended the invitation to me so we could have a small band going for some live music.

There are dozens of bottles of wine, both still and fizzy champagne or champagne-like. Our host is a sommelier and has lots of samples from several wineyards. So it's wine all the way and I do enjoy some, in moderation and with accompanying food.

CHOICE OF SUBSTANCE AND DOSAGE

The last time I did some allylescaline must have been like 10 years ago (after checking, I see it's actually over 11 years). I remember that allylescaline is one of those molecules that really do not impair my playing. If anything, I think it enhances it. Time for a confirmation!

As for the dosage, I didn't want to go overboard for several reasons, mainly that I didn't know how much alcohol and weed would be consumed. Turns out, quite a lot. So I picked something on the low side. I'd gone as far as 50 mg in the past, but this time I did just 14 mg, without expecting it to do much. I was wrong: it worked quite effectively.

About dosage: I could have had some lingering cross-tolerance from a tryptamine I did less than a week ago. That's another reason not to be expecting much. I was wrong: did I mention that already?

THE TRIP

T+00:00 About 10 minutes before arriving to the place, I ingest the allylescaline powder with some water. I know it takes a while to kick in.

T+00:10 As soon as I arrive, I am welcomed with smiles, some great food and an overwhelming choice of wines. I ask the host for advice, so he picks something I will like.

T+00:20 More food. More wine sipping. A few tokes of weed. I'm still in the "mildly partying" mood. My mind appears to be still from allylescaline effects.

T+00:40 Maybe some buzz coming? Not sure with all the alcohol and weed interference. The TV is on, some music is playing and the New Year countoff is still far, but I'm starting to feel like playing.

T+01:00 Some definite buzz. The urge to make music gets very strong. Weed may help, but it does impair my playing, so I usually refrain from it before a "serious" gig - which this one wasn't.

T+01:10 The friend who invited me must have noticed something, because he asks me: "Did you by any chance take something 'magic'?", and I admit: "Well just a little something", without details.

T+01:30 We set up the instruments and play a couple of tunes for sound checking. I play easily and well. Subjectively, I have my usual skill level; what is unusual is how much I enjoy playing. Music flows out easily and naturally.

T+02:00-T+04:00 Easy socializing with both friends and stranger. I feel some definite entactogentic boost. No sexual arousement even in the presence of attractive women who might be seen as inviting.

T+04:00 Midnight's passed, I've been moderately drinking and smoking for some more time, but I'm fresh as we start playing for good. It is amazing how I don't feel impaired. On the contrary, every note gives me some extra pleasure.

After more playing and some more toking and sipping, I feel like I'm almost out of it.

T+06:00 Back to baseline? I feel tired, which might be normal after quite a few hours of partying, but no mental fog.

T+24:00 The day after. Still a bit cloudy after a night of much party and little sleep, but feeling 100% clean with no unpleasant after effects.

CONCLUSION

Allylescaline is confirmed as my top molecule for music. Besides that: clear head, easy socializing, no horniness. Peaceful. Overall subtle effects, but quite worthwhile in my personal opinion.

I have neglected this substance for too long. Will repeat soonish!
