I prepared wormwood tea using approximately 1 gram of the dried herb and 8 oz of boiling water. The tea was steeped for approximately 10 minutes.
Since drinking this, I will always associate 'bitter' with 'wormwood': the drink embodied the word bitter, and bitter was the only taste the mixture had. Because of this, I only drank approximately half to two thirds of the 8 oz tea. Thus, I assume my dosage of the actual substance was approximately 0.6 grams.
After the drink, I took a hot bath, believing I would feel no effects. Approximately 10 minutes after drinking the brew, however, I had a slight change in perception. I took in the whole scene in my visual field, with all the details standing out. It seemed as if I was watching a film or a movie: everything 'on the screen' seemed in focus and no object seemed to stand out. This change in visual perception lasted for about 2 hours alongside a general relaxed feeling.
Looking back on this, the effects could have been a placebo. They seemed just acute enough, however, to indicate that something more was at play, and therefore I felt writing this report might cause others to experiment and confirm or falsify what I felt.
