Group Experience

Info:
6 attendees, ages 20-22, whom I shall refer to as C, E, J, M, H and I (that's me), but H did not participate in 6-APB or cannabis. The 5 participants are experienced in the use of MDMA, conventional psychedelics and other drugs. H and M are cisfemale, all others are cismale.

6-APB was reagent-tested with Marquis, Mecke and Liebermann reagents to identify the compound and any adulterants, but could not be tested for %purity.

T - 100mg orally
T+3h - 20mg (C+E insufflated, J, M and I 'gummed')
T+4.5h - 20mg (as above)

Report
We gathered piecemeal over the course of Friday evening, and were finally fully assembled at around 23:30. At 00:30 we took our first dose and started the clock. Our initial plan was to note down our experiences at half-hour intervals, but our paper was quickly covered with in-jokes and doodles once the effects took hold, so much of what follows is from memory.

T+45 minutes: the group went for a walk: at this point J quickly began to notice mild psychedelic effects, but the others didn't report any effects until the end of the walk, and reported no psychedelia at all.

T+90 minutes: The whole group is now feeling the empathogenic effects
T+90 minutes: The whole group is now feeling the empathogenic effects
, and are variously drawing each other, playing with plasticine or attempting to explain the 4th dimension to each other. Aside from various detours into intersectionality and playing with fairy lights, this describes much of our night together.

T+180 minutes: The group decides to redose, as we can feel ourselves beginning to plateau and decline. An extra capsule is opened and the powder divided into 5 lines. M makes a first insufflation attempt, but *really* doesn't enjoy the experience and gums the rest. C and E snort their doses without trouble, but J and I gum (It should be noted that the flavour of 6-APB is distinctly milder than that of other drugs, better compared to the bitterness of an artificial sweetener). We come up slightly faster than C and E, and J again experiences mild psychedelia (shifting colours and glows) while my experience was purely empathogenic. We return to our activities, now mostly talking and taking the occasional silence to enjoy the music (a mix of italo-disco and art-rap).

T+270 minutes: Final redose - J, M and I gum as before and C snorts painlessly once more. E has a distinctly unpleasant experience snorting this dose, and attributes this to a change of nostril: the first dose was held and absorbed mostly in the nostril itself, while this one went straight to the sinus. This gives the group a mild bump of energy, but at this point it is past 5am and events are winding down. Conversation continues to flow freely and the bong is passed round once more before the group splits up and the participants head home.

Comedown: participants did not report the acute depression often associated with an MDMA comedown, though the burnt-out feeling which often accompanies such extended nights was universal.

Conclusion: 6-APB is 'mellow molly' - a drug with the empathogenic effects of MDMA but without the powerful stimulation associated with it. It was an immensely enjoyable experience, and we plan to replicate it in future.

Additional note - all participants have experienced acute sexual dysfunction during MDMA experiences, but none of us had such trouble with 6-APB, even in the circumstances of being told to go to the bathroom and check. Our group was predominantly male, but M reported similar results.
