4-AcO-MET - 25mg Orally

Setting: Monday afternoon, after getting off work. At approximately 4pm, I ingest 25mg of 4-AcO-MET on an empty stomach.

0:00 - I ingest 4-AcO-MET and smoke weed with my girlfriend while she compiles a shopping list of food for the week.

0:20 - Felt the first alert around 20 minutes into the experience. Possibly placebo. +/-

0:25 - Nothing really felt yet. At this point, I still feel absolutely clear-headed. No noticeable visual distortions. No changes in audio. Maybe something felt on the limbs or in the mind. +/++

0:30 - There's initially a slight shift in the way I feel, as though I took something. Very shortly after, at around 35 minutes, there was no question I was feeling the effects. Literally within the timespan of 5 minutes, as I was taking notes on my phone, I went from +/- to + to ++ extremely quickly.

I had never experienced such a rapid onset before (with the exception of DMT), but the only way I can describe it is being slammed with psychedelia. Time began to dilate significantly, and audio amplifies (much like 4-AcO-DMT & Mushrooms). Aside from the shroomy feel of the onset, it feels remarkably clear-headed, closest to AL-LAD in that regard and some others. No nausea at all, not even from anxiety. I also begin feeling tired and cold, indicating some temperature sensitivity. I did feel the need to sit tight for a little bit. ++/+++

All the while, the compound (or maybe its parent, 4-HO-MET) is well known for its visuals, even at doses low enough to otherwise be considered inactive. As I stared at the tapestry on my wall, the greens and reds popped out a bit, as well as the organic-like patterns. Contrasts, tracers, and patterning started when I was taking notes on my phone.

0:45 - Visuals begin to kick in strongly. Colors are significantly enhanced, especially greens, yellows, light blues. Edges sharpen, and there is a very slow morphing wherever my gaze is fixed. Feels very close to 4-AcO-DMT, but I think I prefer this to 4-AcO-DMT. I feel like it would pair well with most stimulants and psychedelics, as it seemingly just adds depth to music, amplifies visuals, without adding any bodyload or mindfuck. Still feel as though I am somehow in the onset, where my mind doesn't feel like it's quite worked it all in yet.

As my girlfriend opened the door when we were leaving the house, I noticed the familiar 'Rainbow Stars' effect, where shining objects have a color-changing sheen to them - in this case, it was the reflection on the glass. The sunset on the car ride to the grocery store is especially vibrant, and the patterns in the trees were pretty much identical to 4-AcO-DMT, and close to LSD's. I get Rainbow Stars from from LSD, AL-LAD, 1P-LSD, MAL, a bit with Shrooms/4-AcO-DMT and 2C-B. But this is especially pronounced, and so rapidly too! +++

1:00 - We arrive at the grocery store (always seems like I end up in a grocery store whenever I try a new compound). I am not certain about music enhancement as of this point, because there was no music on the car ride, but I am pretty certain it would have kicked in around the 30 minute point, when everything else did.

The floors of the store are clean, and in general, the store was very bright. Everything looked crisp, defined, clean, and the colors were brighter. All the while, I had no real issue being in or dealing with crowds, and felt completely inconspicuous. I felt perhaps a bit lethargic during this, but otherwise the comeup seemed to even out. +++

2:30 - My girlfriend and I have dinner, and my appetite is somewhat sporadic. Taste is enhanced much like how most other tripping drugs enhance taste. There is a considerable degree of visual acuity, as I notice details in the mats on the table. I look into a glass bottle and notice the bubbles inside the glass, but also find it hard to convince myself that the bubbles are stationary, and that they are not slowly melting upwards and downwards (due to the slow morphing effect). +++

4:00 - I feel as though I am on the comedown, and have been for the past 15 to 30 minutes. Color enhancement and morphing are still happening, but are much less marked than before. ++/+

4:30 - Color enhancement and contrasts and such are all diminishing rapidly, almost as fast as its onset. Music is still enhanced, however, but could be potentiated by weed. So peculiar. ++/+

5:00 - I'd say at least 85% of the trip's energy is gone, leaving me around +. Still some music enhancement, minor visuals.

6:00-8:00 - The last of the effects wane, with sleep being obtained at about the 8th hour.

Overall Commentary:
This compound has the fastest onset I've ever seen for an orally-taken psychedelic. It feels somewhat delayed, where I almost liken it to whenever a drink mix packet gets added to a bottle of water, and how the dye reacts with the water by clumping together before fully coloring it. There was the point where it hit me (which told me to start taking notes), which was AS I WAS TAKING NOTES, catching up on the 0:25 minute note, how I felt like there was nothing, then suddenly there was maybe something. And as I was writing about how there might be something, it was almost though + didn't exist, except for a very few brief moments, right before heading straight for ++. 30-35 minutes after taking it, I went from 0-100mph. But that edgy feeling of the onset didn't really go away until about 60 to 90 minutes post dosage, where the peak rolls in.

Exceptionally visual, on-par with AL-LAD, LSD, 2C-B, or MAL (Crisp, clean, shiny, slow-morphing visuals, along with Rainbow stars). Cooler tones are emphasized, compared to 4-AcO-DMT's warmer tones, and is more visual than 4-AcO-DMT. A good analogy from my experience is: What AL-LAD is to LSD-25 is what 4-AcO-MET is to Shrooms/4-AcO-DMT, in that the former is generally more clear-headed, shorter, and more visual. Visuals pretty much were fully there around 50-60 minutes into the experience, and stayed there until about 4-5 hours or so?

To recap it all and sum it up, I think it's very beginner-friendly. Fantastic visuals. Music is enhanced, time gets distorted. No body load. No nausea. Very clear-headed overall (about as clear-headed as AL-LAD). Short duration (peak is about 2-3 hours long). Rapid onset and offset.

The only thing I can think of that might be a disadvantage with this is how the onset is almost TOO steep. Maybe preparing it in solution might be the best way to go, since it hits so quickly. Probably would help taper the offset/comedown too.
