Sweating
A tradition of baths and sweat lodges exists among a number of cultures; healing and spiritual benefits have often been attributed to sweating in these contexts. For example, the sweat house, by housing and controlling the awesome power of fire, can be seen as a shrine to that element. Among some traditions, medicinal or magical herbs are used to enhance the steam and heat's effects.
