“Interaction of serotonin reuptake inhibitor and 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine?”.
Biol Psychiatry. 1998 Jun 15;43(12):929.
Abstract
The increasingly popular illicit drug “ecstasy” or 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphtamine (MDMA), has been associated with malignant neroleptic syndrome, irreversible brain damage and psychiatric morbidity. Users tend to consider it a safe recreational drug. Its major mechanism is serotonergic. No reports concerning interaction of MDMA and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in humans were found in Medline.
