“The effect of respiratory poisons and anoxia on Siamese fighting fish in relation to LSD-25 reaction”.
Neuropharmacology. Transactions of the 4th Conference, September, 1957. 1959;p11-36.
Abstract
Verbatim record of a round table conference. . A review is given of the effects of LSD and related substances on the Siamese fighting fish, as studied by the Abramson group at Cold Spring Harbor, New York. Respiratory poisons such as potassium cyanide and sodium azide, which are not related to LSD, produce effects similar to those elicited by LSD. It is thought that LSD may therefore act by interfering with oxidative metabolism.
