Bull. Murithienne. 1958;75:8-19.
Abstract
The paper contains a description of three studies in which ants were given LSD [dosage?] by mouth or by intra-abdominal injection. The effect of LSD resembled that of diethylbarbituric acid: the ants no longer recognized their nest companions as such and became aggressive and treated them as enemies. . The behavior of the ants, unlike that of spiders, varied greatly and was adapted to the circumstances. As their behavior under the influence of LSD cannot be studied objectively, ants are unsuitable as test animals.
