“Contribution à un concept biochimique des psychoses expérimentales. III. Action de l'ATP du cytochrome c et de l'acide ascorbique sur les perturbations du métabolisme cérébral provoquées par l' administration chronique de LSD 25 chez le lapin in vivo.”.

Abstract
LSD (50 mcg/kg s.c. daily for 2 weeks) inhibits cerebral metabolism. . ATP (7 mg/kg i.v.) and vitamin C (500 mg/kg i.v.) restore anaerobic glycolysis, but only slightly increase the reduced glucose consumption of the brain. Carbon dioxide production is decreased still further. Potassium loss is decreased and glutathione metabolism is normalized. . Cytochrome C (15 mg/kg i.v.) enhances the LSD-induced inhibition of glucose consumption. Althouth carbon dioxide production is markedly reduced, aerobic glycolysis predominates over anaerobic glycolysis. Potassium loss is eliminated and there is no effect on glutathione metabolism. . The removal of calcium from the brain by LSD is affected only by vitamin C, normal conditions being restored.
