“LSD-25 versus pentobarbital sodium”.
Fed. Proc.. 1958;17:5.
Studies in 140 cats showed that LSD provided protection against the lethal effects of pentobarbital sodium, LSD also proved more effective than picrotoxin and metrazol in reversing the depression of the EEG and cessation of respiration induced by pentobarbital sodium. . LSD may be useful in barbiturate intoxication in animals and deserves consideration as an analeptic in humans.
