“Narcosynthesis effects of Sodium Amytal, Methedrine and L.S.D-25”.
Dis. Nerv. System. 1953;14:85.
Abstract
LSD, sodium amytal and methedrine were studied in 20 schizophrenic patients. The physiological reactions to LSD and methedrine were predominantly sympathicotonic. Those to sodium amytal were predominantly vagotonic. Emotional reactions appeared more marked with LSD than with methedrine or sodium amytal. Since the effects of LSD and methedrine lasted considerably longer than those of sodium amytal there was greater opportunity for emotional catharsis and verbal production.
