Abstract
The effects of LSD on normal subjects and psychotic patients are reported. Psychotic phenomena and alterations of the ANS were observed. The psychotic phenomena were predominantly schizophrenia-like symptoms that were manifested in disturbances of thought and speech, changes in affect, mood and perception, production of hallucinations and delusions, depersonaiization and changes in behavior. - LSD produced only slight changes in the EEG, principally increased alpha rhythm. Rorschach tests showed abnormalities principally of the schizophrenic or paranoic type. Concrete-abstract thinking tests showed responses similar to those obtained in schizophrenic patients.
