Brief Exploration
Hypnagogia / Dreaming

Citation:   Owl. "Brief Exploration: An Experience with Hypnagogia / Dreaming (exp99847)". Jun 3, 2019.

I found this notepad file on my computer the other day. It's what I quickly jotted down after my first OBE. I wrote it, saved it somewhere and never saw it again. Now that I read it again, I'm humbled. No substances in my body and a pretty good nights worth of sleep.

It was tuesday November 27th. I decided on taking a nap. I had just gotten back from Psychology and was pretty god damn tired. I'm not even sure why I was so tired but I just was and I was feeling a nap. My roomate was watching some ESPN. It was about 3:30pm. I fell asleep and woke up sometime later from a dream. I heard voices. My roomate had a friend over. I couldn't see his face because I never opened my eyes. I was laying on my back and was too tired to move. I sat there and listened to their talk. They talked of their family back home. As I lay there I drifted in and out of slumber. I was relaxed but fully conscious of the conversation going on.

I started dreaming of the room I was in and the different set ups of beds and Tvs. Trying out different set ups. Suddenly I realized that my mattress was slipping off of my bed frame. Mind you, my bed is on a loft which is 7ft in the air. I panicked and realized that I was slipping off of my bed. I felt myself tumble off of my bed towards the ground. What was weird was that I kept falling. I felt like I was falling for more time then I should have been. I realized that I must have been dreaming. It was one of those dreams where you keep falling. The sensation that I felt was the same sensation I feel on a rollercoaster. It felt so real. It felt REAL.

I realized that I had just knocked myself out of my body. By this time I had returned to my body but not to real life. I decided on trying it again. It worked. I felt the bed roll my astral body off of my loft and onto the floor. I felt the vibrations. I felt like I was falling. It was like a gray and black and white world. I felt rushed. I was stumbling. I wanted to explore. I stumbled over to my doorway and felt around. I was looking for the doorknob. I slapped the wall and FELT the doorknob. I felt it. Suddenly I got scared. Really scared. Suddenly I realized that I may never return to my body. It freaked me out so bad. I floated up to my loft where my body lay. I lay down next to my body.

It took me a while to get back into my body. I returned to my body but I was paralized. I could not move. I couldnt open my eyes or move my arms. There is no scarier feeling. It took me a while until I pried my eyes open and sat up in my bed. I was naseous. I felt sick and disoriented. It was a spiritual awakening for me.
