I took 150 mg Ketamine i.m. It was not as intense as I expected. I’m not sure if that's because it’s absorbed more slowly via the i.m. route than by insufflation, or because this stuff is losing its effect on me. I’ve been an aficionado of this substance for years, but the last few times I tried it (which was a couple of months ago), it wasn’t as magical as it used to be.

After 30 min, the peak was clearly past and I was growing a little bored.

I sprinkled roughly 15-20 mg DMT on a very small amount of cannabis, and took two large-but-not-huge hits. Normally this amount of DMT would just alter my headspace slightly and perhaps produce just a hint of visuals.

Not bored any more! Intense 3D visuals with eyes open or closed, first geometric patterns, then some recognizable objects. For a while it was like watching a cartoon that I could control with my mind; I could make funny things happen. I had a few useful insights as to brain function and personality, among other things.

The trip lasted about 30 min. Toward the end, I felt very embodied, which seemed unusual considering that Ketamine usually has the opposite effect on me.

I took two more hits from the same bowl, and got about halfway back to where I had been for another 20 min.

This is an interesting combination; I think these compounds are quite synergistic. The first one, being a dissociative anesthetic, reduces distracting outside stimuli and helps the mind focus inward on itself. The second seems to have more of a stimulating effect on certain parts of the brain. It's like turning down the lights in the theater, and turning up the spotlight on the stage.

I think it would be almost as good with smaller doses of Ketamine.
