When I’m doing it and having fun

I could get it anytime so I felt kinda lucky
It was a phone call away and a little bit of money

When I was introduced
I was told two rules,
Never do it alone
And control it, don’t let it rule you.

I asked, “What about you, you do it everyday”
He said, “Don’t do as I do boy, just do as I say!”

I kinda got pissed, wanted to holler and shout
Now 8 months later I feel what he was talking about

Cause when it puts you 6 feet under it won’t even remember your name.
You’re just another weak bitch,
That it’s claimed

But I told myself “I got this”......Just a little at a time
Just one or two.....hell, that’ll be fine.
But let me promise you this, When you do one line
Getting more and more takes over your mind
One turns to four, and four turns to eight
My heart’s beating fast and I’ve got a headache
Now eight lines won’t do, it just won’t get me by,
So I do a little more, chasing that high

So now I’m 3 beats away from a flat line
I did what I did, so now I got mine
But if things could be different as I look back
I’d promise you baby, I’d start from scratch.

Now it’s 3:00 am and I’m trying to rest.
My heart finally slowed down, 120 at best!
