Background:

22 years old, my background of stimulants includes concerta, ritalin, provigil, dexamphetamine and caffeine. I consume alot of caffeine on a daily basis and I have a pretty good tolerance for it. After a while it lost much of its stimulating effects, though I found myself depressed and unmotivated when I stopped consuming it.

Having a history of depression to begin with, I decided to try St John's wort, which seems to have a sedating and pleasant effect, it stops a lot of my negative and morbid thoughts from having an effect on me.

I have tried L-Tyrosine without caffeine to see if it would have a stimulating effect on its own, it does seem to have an effect but its not very strong.

Today, I took 1500 mg L-Tyrosine at 12:00 pm. I then consumed about 240 mg caffeine four hours later at 4:00 pm. The effects were instantaneous. The caffeine affected me in a much greater way, resulting in waves of pleasure and euphoria, a body high similar to what I've experience with amphetamine, although far shorter lived. The amount of focus and concentration is much greater than with caffeine alone. I am unsure of what the St John's wort does to contribute to this experience.

In conclusion, the effects of caffeine are increased with this combination of substances, however St Johns Wort is a bit of a wild card, it would be more accurate to experiment with caffeine and l-tyrosine alone.
