I have been struggling with addictions all my life, most notably, alcohol which has always been my downfall. I want to be clear on this here and now that I personally believe that the salvation of any person suffering from addiction can be found in the rooms of AA and NA if one is willing and ready to change, plain and simple. That said, I also believe there are a great number of people that for whatever reason do not respond to what I have previously said about true salvation from addiction. We have the methodone program for people addicted to opiates, but nothing for people addicted to the worst drug of all....alcohol.

I personally believe that a person can stay off alcohol, mend their broken life at least to managability, retain a job and be productive by using opiates. This is what the methodone program is supposed to do for people with opiate addiction...

Unfortunately, obtaining opiates has its own world of trouble attached to it....That's where my experimentation comes in. I have been trying and failing for years. I have been in several detox programs, in and out of hospitals for reasons always having to do with my use or abuse of substances. I am very fortunate to be alive. I am full of gratitude toward my Higher Power, my Family, my place of employement. All I can say is that this combination has been working so far. If I add a small dose of methadone to this regimen (5mgs.) it seems to alter the total effect towards mania , which can be a good thing if kept in check and used for productive purposes. I have to be carefull not to annoy everyone around me with my enthusiasm. There is a fine line between enthusiasm and grandiosity...
