Less of the Groggy Feeling
Cannabis & Melatonin
Citation:   4:20somewhere. "Less of the Groggy Feeling: An Experience with Cannabis & Melatonin (exp36611)". Erowid.org. Mar 30, 2018. erowid.org/exp/36611

DOSE:
.25 g smoked Cannabis (plant material)
3 mg oral Melatonin (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 170 lb
Pot + Melatonin

I read somewhere that marijuana can deplete your body's melatonin because of the correlation between pot smoking and melatonin levels in the blood. A low supply of melatonin can result in short term memory deficiencies and lethargy (sound like a pothead you know?).

Noticing some of these effects, I went out to the drug store and got a bottle of Melatonin tabs. I took one that night and smoked several hours later. The experience was greatly multiplied and I was able to attain an incredible high while smoking only a small amount of pot.

Additionally, I noticed that in the hours following the high I had less of the groggy feeling one normally experiences with the use of pot, while having less of a craving to smoke again.

I don't know if this phenomenon which I experienced is uniquely mine or if others experienced the same effects.
