I have been interested in Absinthe for quite some time, and I was delighted when my friend sent me a small bottle of Absinthe from the Czech Republic. Actually, I was a bit disappointed because it seems that the brand is viewed very negatively in the subculture of serious Absinthe drinkers, but I was happy nonetheless to have a bottle. Anyway, tonite I ended up drinking a small amount (about 2 oz.) of the stuff because I happened to have no other type of alcohol around the house (in other words, I wasn’t looking for an Absinthe “high”, I just wanted a little alcohol buzz). I am a fairly experienced drug user and I have been drinking very regularly for a number of years (I usually don’t go a few days without drinking).

I’ll add that I smoked about a half a hit of cannabis resin earlier tonite, but I was baseline when I made the drink. I wasn’t expecting anything, but there was a noticeably different effect from the Absinthe! I am actually quite surprised, as it still is having an effect on me.. There was a sight stoning effect from the Absinthe and it seemed to kick in rather quickly. The best I could describe it is a more complete alcohol buzz... it seems to encompass my whole body and mind more, and I am getting that pleasantly dizzy feeling I get when I drink and smoke cannabis at the same time. Overall I am extremely pleased, and I can’t WAIT to try “real” absinthe! I enjoy drinking a lot and gave this stuff a try for a nice change of pace.
