Myself having tried mushrooms 3 times before this encounter, I consider myself to be rather experienced in the substances effects. This time however we found the fungus in a pasture of a friends ranch; it would prove to be some of the most potent I had ever had.

Fasting has some amazing effects on the experience, as an empty stomach will digest the shrooms much quicker, I will feel effects much much quicker. Within twenty minutes of ingestion already I was experiencing the 'coming up' that I love on mushrooms. Pulses of energy flow through you, and everything becomes pleasant, even a disgusting dorm hall. Soon it was time to head outside and float through nature. The university we attend has a small arboreatum (Sp?) that we go to to relax and smoke and such, so this was perfect to wander around in while tripping.

A mushroom trip is a wonderful thing, and even better if shared with a good friend. Soon we found ourselves wandering in an ancient nearby pecan tree orchard, of which nuts were a delicacy while tripping. The sounds, the light filtering through the delicate foliage of a hundred trees, and the sounds of children laughing is something I will never forget. The sky swirls, the clouds sink, and the trees breathe; all is at peace. One is perfectly content to simply exist, this could very well have been one of the best days of my life.
