DOSE:
1 cup oral Coffee (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 130 lb
I never had caffiene until the summer of 2001. Even from when I was younger, I never drank soda (dont' like carbonation too much) and rarely ate chocolate or anything else that has caffiene in it. That summer I had my first cup of coffee, a medium from Dunkin Donuts. I didn't really notice anything except that cigarettes were really good with it. So I drank that amount for a few days in a row.

On the third day I began to feel lightheaded and sick
On the third day I began to feel lightheaded and sick
and had to put my head between my knees and I didn't know why. Same the day after. Then a friend told me it was the coffee, and I breathed a sigh of relief, and decided to drink in smaller amounts. When I returned to school in August I started on small cups of Dunkin Donuts and realized that I would start racing - sweaty palms, pumping heart, inability to concentrate, jumpy, I talked often and fast, basically all over the place. This continued throughout the semester and unfortunately I needed to drink it because I had a lot of assignments and also had a job that kept me late in the morning.

I'm studying abroad in London now and the coffee is MUCH stronger here. Starbucks surprisingly is the least strong and that I can only have a half a cup of and still can't drive on it. My heart still pumps abnormally sometimes even when I don't have the caffiene when I get nervous, something that never happened to me before I drank coffee.

I don't drink it often anymore, maybe a cup a week, and I watch what kind I drink. I learned from bad experiences how to taste the difference between a strong and weak cup, thank god. I realized that I don't need the coffee that badly because I hate the way my heart feels, and besides, it's no fun going to the bathroom twice an hour.
