Sunny April Trip

This is the trip report of the psychedelic session I did together with my friend B.

Mindset

Both of us were in a good mindset. We planned this as part of a fun social afternoon (we often meet up for other activities, such as the sport of board games).

Physical status
We are two (reasonably) fit physically fit men of 35, weighing about 80 kg.
Trip report

The setting was a sunny April afternoon. I had only eaten a pastry in the morning with no lunch and B. had a regular lunch. B. arrived at approximately 14h00, and at 14h40, we took our doses orally with a glass of water:
- 225 µg 1P-LSD
- 21 mg promal methallylescaline (MAL)

We both had experience with psychedelics, with a joint trip using 300 µg 1P-LSD in December being the most recent one. Neither of us had ever experienced MAL.

We took a short walk to the nearby park, anticipating the come-up. We walked and talked for half an hour before noticing the initial effects. From then onwards, I felt a slight nausea, which was not too unpleasant.
We walked and talked for half an hour before noticing the initial effects. From then onwards, I felt a slight nausea, which was not too unpleasant.
However, at this point, it seemed safer to go back home.

Arriving at 15h30 back home, we moved to the lounging room, waiting for the psychedelics to take place. We both felt a nervous energy (similar to LSD) and felt a bit dizzy. I could observe minor closed-eyed visuals, such as patterns and colors. We then turned on the music. At this point, we were at the heightened music awareness phase, so the music was intense and emotional, beyond a level one can normally feel. Classical and game music could be felt with one's whole body, and variations within the song seem to take one with you. Minor visual distortions were also present, such as objects appearing to breathe or shift. At this point, we both felt waves that could engulf us for short periods of time. There was a notable time distortion effect, where songs seemed to last much longer than usual.

We mainly stayed in this room, except for brief periods getting water. My cat seemed huge, with its different layers of fur protruding at all sides. I walked on my grass carpet, which seemed to move as if alive, creating a unique and intriguing experience.

Then, I decided to start watercolor painting. With my motor skills diminished and a lack of vision (I normally wear glasses, which I remove during a trip). I could do some quick sketches of the room and my cat and some details of my cat and mate. I quickly filled in these with some watercolor paint. All in all, the process was extremely pleasing. I especially liked the rough lines on the white paper and the intensity of the colors. Looking back on the result soberly, I am delighted with these paintings as souvenirs! They look much more abstract than my other drawings, which I liked.

Next, at around 16H30-17H00, we went downstairs to play a game of chess. I lost, though I felt a kind of new intuition of the board, where the pieces' regions of influence popped out quite naturally. This new intuition felt like a metaphor for how I should navigate life, with different aspects of life having their own 'regions of influence'. We discussed chess strategies, and I reflected on how these related to my own life philosophies and insecurities. After the chess game, I felt relatively lucid, and I assumed my trip had come to a natural conclusion and ended with some additional life lessons. So, I proposed to end the trip with a healthy walk.

I was wrong; the trip was not over. During our walk (17h20), I felt in a dream state where the world was strange and alien. We walked to a different little park, chatting about the nature of our trip and wondering whether people would recognize us as suspicious junkies. We talked a bit but returned home, anxious to be found out. With some confusion on the right side of the road and taking the discrete route, we found our way home.

At home again, we mellowed out a bit. I sat in the garden, thinking. For the next hour, I still had some visual aspects but no (strong) mental effects. These visual aspects included seeing patterns in the grass and the way the sunlight played with the leaves. We slowly went back to normal. This seemed to be about the last 'wave'.

At 19H30, we had a protein and carbohydrate-rich dinner. I still experienced visual effects - but weak. We played a board game and did a final walk to wrap things up.

Physical sensations

I found MAL to be quite invasive to my stomach, with a high body load and some nausea at the beginning and the end of the trip. It did not hamper the pleasant experience, but I am glad to have entered this with a near-empty stomach and only took one tab of MAL. It seemed to enhance the trip beyond regular LSD, though it should be taken into consideration. Would only add MAL very sparingly and maybe take something against nausea. My friend did not seem to have much discomfort.

Summary

This was a well-rounded trip with visual, sensorial, and emotional experiences.
