DOSE:
3 Tbsp oral Kava (liquid)

I finally discovered something that helps with my problem. I have trouble relaxing. I come home after work, try to settle down, try not to think of anything stressful, not to think of work.... But it doesn't work. My brain refuses to shutdown. I'm constantly thinking, constantly stressing out. This causes countless problems in my life. I have trouble sleeping, which causes even more trouble! I've tried everything over-the-counter, including alcohol (which caused a whole other trouble alltogether) with nothing really helping. Kava (which I recently discovered) is the answer to my prayers.

I didn't feel comfortable buying tablets, so I found an herb store locally that sells the root either cut, or ground, and bought a bit of each (spent less than $10).

As soon as I got home from work I begun chewing on a small peice of root, and followed the basic directions I'd found online:
I took a couple big spoonfulls of the powder & put it in a peice of cheese-cloth. To make it simple I tied a piece of string around it to make a ball of Kava inside the cloth, and dropped it in a bowl of water (couldn't tell you how much) & let it soak for ~ 10 minutes while I ate dinner. Then I kneaded it. I'd read that you want a dark milky-brown colored drink, so that's what I made. It took about 15 minutes of kneading to get there. After it was done I poured it in a small cup & started sipping while I watched some TV.

The taste was very awkward at first, almost disgusting, though I soon got used to it. After drinking that I still felt nothing & decided to drink another glass. About half way through the second glass I realized that I didn't have anything important to do, and that I could relax. This was exactly what I did! I felt content with everything, I didn't have a worry on my mind, My fiance kept asking me to do things (that bugged me!) but I felt good! I was completely clear headed, my vision was a little off, but I was okay. I had to be to the office early the next day, and I was feeling a bit tired (THANK YOU AWA!) and it was only about 9:00-9:30, but I went outside, had a smoke (which made me a bit dizzy, again no big deal) and went upstairs to bed.

I laid down & felt so comfortable. Under normal circumstances I lay in bed for at least an hour before I start to fall asleep, last night I was snoring within 10 minutes. My Fiance woke me up, as she thought something was wrong with me. 'You never fall asleep so easily!' she said. I laid back down & was asleep again within 5 minutes. I can't remember the last time I slept so soundly. The alarm went off at its usual time. Rather than ripping it out of the wall, I stretched, yawned & popped out of bed & turned it off. I felt GREAT, Rested, not hungover!

No a dramatic, high... this is mellow, relaxing & peaceful.
