I started using mushrooms biweekly now June 2019 to combat depression, PTSD, and previous trauma. I’d prepare a tea, put on relaxing music, and relax in my room. After 2 months of biweekly use, I was VERY tired, massive brain fog, and cold all of the time.
After 2 months of biweekly use, I was VERY tired, massive brain fog, and cold all of the time.
I started having fainting spells, so went to see my GP. He ordered bloodwork which came back saying that my Hemoglobin was 4/10 and my ferritin was 11/20. Incredibly low. They booked me for an intravenous iron infusion within a week.

Fast forward 9 months - I stop using mushrooms to see if that’s what’s causing the deficiency, as by this point the physicians and specialists are stumped. Sure enough, my iron stabilizes.

[These values of '4/10' and '11/20' are not how Hemoglobin and Ferritin are normally clinically described --- does this represent the results of several tests, demarcated by slashes? --Editors]
