This is going to be a long report, so if you want to get straight to the effects of the drug, just skip to the “EFFECTS & DOSAGE” section. 4-fluoro-methylphenidate will be referred to as 4F-MPH.

INTRODUCTION

Since my youth, I’ve been a firm believer in the idea of better living through chemistry. I’ve tried several dozen different drugs, but I’ll skip the tradition of giving a complete list of every drug I’ve tried. But, since this is a report on a stimulant, I’ll list the stimulants I’ve tried: amphetamine (both dextroamphetamine and Adderall), methylphenidate, ephedrine, dexmethylphenidate, ethylphenidate, isopropylphenidate, cocaine, n-ethylhexedrone, 2-FMA, lisdexamfetamine, and of course caffeine and nicotine. Suffice it to say I’m experienced. I primarily use these drugs - some of which were/are prescribed - to treat adult ADHD.

My daily experience is a struggle to function. Although my ADHD isn’t severe, I have an extremely demanding and busy life. Without stimulants, I am constantly forgetting meetings, missing deadlines, and generally failing to keep up with my life. Simple things, like listening to people talk longer than a few minutes, are a monumental challenge. My mind inevitably drifts toward other things. Since I’m so busy, it’s hard to pay attention to anything for very long without thinking about the plethora of other things I have to deal with.

I have non-drug ways to cope with ADHD, like intense daily exercise, getting plenty of sleep, and taking carefully scheduled breaks. I am a zealous listmaker, and I use lists with an almost religious fervor. Even writing this report was put on my list - otherwise it would have never gotten done. Regardless, without a chemical stimulant, I’m simply not as functional as I need to be.

SOURCING

4F-MPH appealed to me for two reasons. First, its duration is perfect for a workday. One dose in the morning, with a smaller booster dose in the afternoon, is enough to last me well into the early evening. Second, it’s very potent - supposedly 3.33 times as potent as methylphenidate - meaning I get more bang for my buck.

I ordered the drug from a research chemical vendor on the dark net, and before long I was anxiously opening the package. A reagent test indicated that it was, most likely, the substance in question. I prepared a volumetric solution, and the next morning I put 7 mg in a water bottle and went to work.

EFFECTS & DOSAGE

4F-MPH takes up to an hour to kick in orally. For functional purposes, there is no reason to take more than 10 mg at once unless you have a strong tolerance. While many people take 15+ mg, that’s definitely a recreational dose. For me, a perfect functional dose is 3 mg. That may not seem like much, but other people have confirmed the potency of this compound. Anyone without a stimulant tolerance should be able to feel 5 mg or less. To be fair, I’ve always preferred subtle stimulation and believe in the “less is more” philosophy, but 3 mg always does the job for me.

My initial 7 mg dosage, which was followed by an additional 6 mg later in the day, resulted in a harsh comedown. It went something like this:

T + 0:00 After some sipping, I polish off the water bottle with the dose in it.

T + 0:35 I arrive at work, not feeling much. I begin to think I haven’t taken enough.

T + 0:50 Unusually chatty, somewhat distracted.

T + 1:00 I am slammed with stimulation and focus. I begin working rapidly, but due to a lack of work to do I quickly become bored and begin reading a million articles online.

T + 2:30 Simultaneously focused and distracted, I find a quiet spot in the office and get some more work done.

T + 4:00 Past the peak, I eat lunch and take an additional 6 mg.

T + 4:45 Now more stimulated than at any point in the day. I’ve taken too much.

T + 6:00 Heart pounding, sweating profusely, and highly anxious, I retreat to the bathroom. I stay there for twenty minutes, compulsively checking my phone. People notice my strange behavior.

T + 8:00 The rest of the day having been rather lazy and unproductive, I go home. By the time I arrive back home, I feel better, but fried. I read a bit, eat dinner (I had no appetite for it and had to force myself to eat). I am irritable and unpleasant for the rest of the evening, and eventually go to bed where I have trouble sleeping.

I eventually lowered the dose, which was helpful, and rarely take more than 5-6 mg in a day. At this dose, the effects are a subtle stimulation, mood boost and somewhat increased focus. Motivation is a little better but generally unchanged. Compared to methylphenidate, it’s a little less physically stimulating but as good or better at treating my ADHD.

4F-MPH typically lasts 4-6 hours, with residual stimulation lingering for an hour or two after. There is some euphoria/mood boost, but it only lasts for the first hour or two. I take it 2-4 times per week to avoid tolerance, with caffeine.

I also notice it makes me much more chatty, but I don’t know if this is an empathogenic effect or just increased energy.

SUMMARY

As far as the -phenidates go, this one is a good treatment for my ADHD. Getting the dosage right is tricky, and definitely requires volumetric dosing, but once I figured that out this drug has immense potential. I’m a big fan. Its duration and effects are perfect for my life.

The comedown is rarely of the “I want to fucking die” variety at reasonable doses, unlike cocaine or cathinones. Instead, it’s characterized by fatigue, inattention, mild irritability and insomnia (don’t take it within 8-10 hours of trying to sleep). Coming down on this drug feels like having all the spark sucked out of my brain. Really, I just feel foggy and tired. It’s not terrible, but it isn’t fun.

Notably, the comedowns get worse and the positive effects get less prominent with daily use. I can’t use this more than two days in a row, or else I’ll be totally useless and my ADHD will become much worse. Taking too much makes me feel like a zombie, so be careful.

Over the last six months, I have been using this pro re nata with good effect. I haven't noticed any negative physical or mental health consequences, and use no other drugs regularly besides caffeine.

For me, this is the perfect ADHD medicine. I wish it could be prescribed by a doctor, but alas, the nature of drug laws would never allow it. Good luck, and stay safe.
