Vicodin Summer

I've tried a bunch of drugs, and I have to say, Vicodin's my favorite. I took it a number of times over the summer, usually two or three pills -- I think they were 7.5 mg each. I should mention that I was also taking Paxil and Wellbutrin at the time for depression. (The Vicodin came from a friend who had dental surgery. He didn't like how it made him feel.)

I hate to say it, but Vicodin made me feel at peace with myself, and with the world. I've read a lot of negative accounts of Vicodin use, but all my experiences were overwhelmingly positive.

Usually I would take one or two pills, and about a half hour later, it would first start to hit, and I would feel it in my TEETH, of all places -- it felt like they were made of sugar and melting or dissolving. (This has happened to me a few times with pot and it's acutally more pleasant that it sounds!) Then I'd feel not a rush but more of a slow wave of calm and euphoria, both mental and physical, like I'd just gotten a really good massage or had good sex. I'd continue to feel that way for a few hours, and when I came down, it was gentle -- it just wore off, and I didn't feel groggy afterwards.

[Erowid Note: Driving while intoxicated, tripping, or extremely sleep deprived is dangerous and irresponsible because it endangers other people. Don't do it!]
I've used Vicodin by myself and in social situations. Things just feel better. Some of the nicest moments I can recall were of lying in the sun and listening to music while on it -- I just felt like I was melting into the pavement. Or I'd take one or two and go driving around in the mountains, and it felt amazing. Just total relaxtion. But none of my faculties were impaired -- I was completely alert and functional. I just felt like me, only better.

A few times I took it and then went out with friends, and I found it made me much more patient, tolerant, and pleasant in general. The usual stupid things that would annoy me didn't bother me at all, and I felt like engaging with people more than I normally do.

I've taken Ecstasy before but never felt anything from it, I guess because I've been on antidepressants. The way people describe their experiences with E sounds to me like how I felt taking Vicodin, minus the E effects that are associated with speed. I've never met anyone else who had that same exprerience with Vicodin.

Is it addictive? I didn't experience any physical withdrawal symptoms when it ran out, but I sure do miss it. I'd take it again if I came across it, but I can see how it could become a habit if I wasn't careful. After all, why wouldn't I want to feel like that every day?
