DOSE:
    Pharms - Fluoxetine (daily)
      Pharms - Venlafaxine (daily)
      Pharms - Mirtazapine (daily)
  400 mg oral Dimenhydrinate
BODY WEIGHT: 135 lb
After a lot of research and consideration, I decided to take 400 mg of Dramamine to experience a different kind of trip. I am an every day weed smoker and I also take Prozac, Effexor, Remeron, and Synthroid. I’ve always been very cautious with drugs and make sure to do my research about dosage, side effects, and combinations with other medicine. Reading up on Dramamine made me realize that high doses are no fun at all, so I wanted to take a low dose, and based on others’ experiences and suggestions I decided that 400 mg was a safe bet. I made sure none of my medications would affect my trip-I learned that MAO inhibitors would not be safe with Dramamine, but I’m on ssri and snri so I figured I’d be fine.

T+00:00 I took eight 50 mg pills at 7:45 pm and my sister and I decided to play music downstairs for a while.

T+40:00 I started to feel the first effects. It felt like I was kind of drunk, and my legs were pretty heavy. No hallucinations at this point.

T+60:00 I definitely felt different. I felt really good honestly. My limbs were really heavy and it felt like I was floating when I was walking. My sister and I were in her room and we started watching a video.

T+75:00 I looked at my phone and tried to read something on this website I was on. The more I concentrated on the words, the blurrier they became. This is the last thing I remember until I blacked out.

T+90:00 I woke up at the foot of my sister’s bed and was incredibly confused. There were several people who I’d never seen before in her room, and they were all looking at me. I was having a lot of trouble processing what was happening and didn’t know if I was dreaming or hallucinating or what. I was super dizzy and just kept trying to shut my eyes, but every time I opened them the people were still in the room. In fact, there were a few more now than before. Then it kinda hit me. These people were paramedics and firefighters. They told me to get up and helped me walk towards the front door. I kept telling them I was fine, I was just super dizzy and felt really heavy. Then my sister told me I had a seizure on her bed and she had called 911. I was having a lot of trouble understanding what was happening. I told the paramedics that I was fine and I wanted to stay home with my sister, but they led me out the front door and into an ambulance that was parked in our driveway.

Once I was in the ambulance reality kept hitting me harder and harder. I had had a seizure and now had to go to the hospital.

I’ve never had a seizure before this night and just the thought of me having one seemed impossible to me. The guy in the ambulance put a small IV into my arm and tried talking to me about what happened. I told him as much as I could remember, but I still felt super dizzy and hazy.

T+100:00 We arrive at the hospital and go into the emergency department. Over the next few hours I would have blood work done, a CT scan, and a urine sample. I mostly stayed in the hospital bed, but when I had to get up for the CT scan and to pee my legs were super heavy and I kept loosing my balance.

T+330:00 Several hours later and I’m allowed to leave the hospital. The scan, blood work, and urine sample all came back fine. The cause of my seizure was most definitely Dramamine, which I was pissed about. I did so much research ahead of time to make sure I would be tripping safely, and every source I read said that doses from 350 to 1200 mg would be safe. I took the low end of this range for extra precaution. I now know that my body and brain probably have a very low threshold for adverse reactions to drugs such as this.

I need to rest the next couple of days, and then it’s back to weed for me. Weed has never brought me to the hospital.

All in all it was a shot experience, but really it could’ve been worse if I took a higher dose. PSA for all the lightweights out there-400 mg can get you in trouble.
