DOSE:
400 mg oral Diphenhydramine (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 52 kg
I took roughly 400mg out of morbid curiosity. I have had experience with other drugs, primarily cannabis, DXM, and LSD. The experience was semi-enjoyable at first. But quickly became very unpleasant. This was taken on an empty stomach.

T+30minutes - My body began to feel heavy. It took unusual effort to move so I ended up just sitting at my desk playing games and listening to music.

T+1:30 - The heavy sedated feeling remained, but I noticed the infamous spiders I had heard about. When I had taken LSD I had interesting visuals but not many actual hallucinations, other than auditory hallucinations, which I seem to be very prone to based on past drug experiences, even cannabis causes them for me. The spiders were almost invisible, sort of like a mirage. I thought maybe hitting them with a book would make them go away. They splattered blood on my desk when I tried this. After that I became convinced they were real despite knowing beforehand that I would hallucinate them. I jumped around my room for a good 30 minutes trying to stay away. I looked at my bed and noticed that the crinkles in my sheets were actually millipedes crawling all over my bed. Visuals in general became wavy and I thought everything was moving; but, I did not notice any color distortions. I also tried to respond to a message a friend sent but it turned out as gibberish on my first try. However, after trying again I managed to form a cognizant response. I didn't socialize (with real people) for the rest of the trip.

T+2:00(?) - My guesses at time are a little fuzzy, because I started to fade in and out and my memory is hazy at this point. I black out for a while, not sure how long.

T+3:30(?) - I was out for at least an hour. I come to on my bed. I feel lucid; but, I realize I'm still tripping when I start hearing voices of people asking if I'm okay. These voices go on for a while. After a while of them continuing to ask, I start to respond convinced people are here to check on me. After lying down at my desk I also start to see hallucinations of my friends talking to me. As soon as I try to touch them they fade, unlike the spiders.

T+3:45(?) - Shortly after my friends started showing up. I start hearing voices of who I thought were my neighbors. They were saying awful things about me and making fun of me. But I started to realize it couldn't be them because I was in my apartment and had all of my doors closed. Even at their loudest I had never been able to hear clear voices through the walls or my door before. And I could make out exactly what they were saying, but my recall of it at this point is a bit fuzzy beyond that it made me feel bad. On top of that they mentioned things they could not possibly have known about me. At the time it seemed odd but didn't click with me that it wasn't real. I would still see a spider or millipede here and there at first but after squashing the few I saw with my book, they were gone for the rest of the evening.

T+4:15(?) - I think the bad voices lasted for maybe 30 minutes, possibly slightly longer. After they stopped I noticed the hallucinations of my friends again and spoke with them. This part was more pleasant but only because they were comforting me after the bad voices. I spoke with them for about an hour.

T+5:15(?) - Since there were no bugs or bad voices, I told my friends I was feeling sleepy and that I was going to turn on a movie and go to sleep. I did just that; I don't remember if I actually did start watching a movie, but I fell asleep shortly after that.

All in all, it was a very unpleasant experience and definitely not something I will revisit. Benadryl will remain a allergy relief med or sleep aid for me. The only positive that I found from this trip was that I thought I might have a greater understanding of how insanity must feel.
