I'll first say this: nutmeg is wonderful thing. I've taken nutmeg about 4 times, months apart. Wether it's done with friend or alone it is a wonderfully calming relaxing and playfully mild way to alter ones perception.
One of my favorite experiences was when my girlfriend and I both dosed on the trail in Baxter State Park in Northern Maine. At the edge of a babbling brook we each swallowed around 16 grams of grated nutmeg that I had just prepared the night before. How to is always a big question with this substance as it is incredibly nasty to taste. This is one reason why I won't find myself over using. The best way in my opinion is to fill 'OO' gel capsules with my weight of nutmeg (I do not mean my weight in nutmeg, of course), .75 to 1.25 grams/ 10lb of my total weight is the range I use. That time however I did not have the luxury of the pill so down the hatch one spoonfull at a time is the way we went.
Soon we were back on the trail, and pleasantly reminded of the dosing by little meggy-burps. Mmmmm, Yum. The hike that day was pleasant.
The hike that day was pleasant.
About an hour and a half into the ride I started getting a soapy taste in my mouth. (Not the first time that happened with nutmeg.) Another hour or so pass and I'm feeling as lovely as can be. No fear and weighted down (in a good way). I felt my weight. The coolest thing began happening shortly after this. I was looking down at the trail just ahead of me and notice the foliage along the path streaking past me so gracefully, and the color everywhere in the forest was a remarkablly soft emerald. At one point we thought we heard one of those duo sound halusonations (sp?). People talk further up the trail. I don't know why it was noteworthy, it just seemed so mysterious at the time. When we arrived at the shelter that evening we were overjoyed and I was still full of energy. So much so that the first thing we did was dance around the room. I whistled up a tune that was flawless and without hesitation. The two of us really felt magical.
Nutmeg is for the warm hearted and soft spirited.
