In a previous report, I had focused on the synergy between cannabis and poppers.
However, I neglected something that became relevant with this experience:
I am on medication - for depression. A serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor called levomilnacipran and an antipsychotic called lurasidone. I take them for depression, as I mentioned, and in hindsight their presence in my previous report would explain the difference between that experience and this one. The last experience was quite spacey, with mild visuals; this experience would be vastly different.

For about a week, I had gone without my antipsychotic. Not because I no longer wanted to take it (I actually think the regimen I'm on works incredibly well for me) but because I had run out and my schedule had become so crowded that I could not find the opportunity to make the detour to the pharmacy to get the script. So during this experience, I only had the levomilnacipran in my system.
As is our usual ritual, my boyfriend and I got together one night that week to spend time together. On the menu was our usual psychoactive cuisine: cannabis and poppers. I will take this moment to mention that I had taken my antidepressant in my prescribed 40mg dose before I drove to his place.
We talked for a while and discussed the events of the past week while we changed into more comfortable clothes. Making ourselves comfortable on the couch we became more intimate and started expressing our love for each other physically. We then took our separate popper vials and made our way to the bedroom and had our fun.
When we untangled ourselves and got dressed again, we went back to his couch and loaded the bong (which had been repaired) with cannabis. We partook and settled in to cuddle while watching TV.
I can't speak for my partner, but I became extremely spacey while my internal environment seemed more alive than usual. I was hyper aware of the happenings of my body, and the space my body inhabited seemed distorted. Thoughts would fire off and then fizzle into ethereal nonsense while another thought climbed into the cannon. I watched Archer as best as I could, trying to follow what was happening. All the episodes seemed to fuse into one long train with the title cards becoming nothing more than reminder of what was on the screen.
Eventually, my boyfriend declared he was going to bed and I prepared to join him. I loaded the bong with enough greens to fill the bowl halfway up and smoked all of it; I cracked a vial of poppers and took a couple of good whiffs. As I walked into the bedroom, the main event began to occur.
It started as a gold light in my vision, then became a glimmering vein of gold in the furniture. Soon it spread, cracking the surface of my reality as each line crawled across everything in my vision. Briefly, the shapes cut by the veins became images of the character Arthur Reed from the show Arthur. At this point I knew I was in for a ride, so I crawled into bed and wrapped myself around my lover and closed my eyes.
The image of my vision from the instant before my eyes shut remained, but a camera was slowly zooming out on it. The veins of gold were long gone, but in the negative space caused the camera panning back revealed a black ocean of shimmering stars. I gripped my boyfriend tighter. Then the image began to zoom in again, but the picture was revolving on an axis, revealing it was a flat picture. Slowly the picture then began to bend itself into a tube, and the opening at the top of the tube turned to face me directly. When it had finished turning, the edges of the opening became gold and glowed with a fierce light. In my ears, engines were revving up and grew louder the long it happened. With a great rushing sensation, I was flung through the golden circle and into hyperspace. Past this point, I must have fallen asleep - as I have no memory of anything after I passed through the golden circle.
The next morning I woke up feeling quite refreshed. My boyfriend and I woke up to wake and bake while we had breakfast and black coffee. While I smoked a fair bit, it couldn't replicate the experience from the night prior.
It was quite the experience, and I think I will carry it with me with the rest of my life.
