  smoked Mushrooms (dried)
Sometime during mid October I was walking through Chico State campus on my way downtown when, near the physical science building, I spotted several of what appeared to be P. stuntzii. I checked to see if anyone was around and, being one a.m., there where only a few alcoholically intoxicated students stumbling around. I bent down to have a closer look and found that there where redish-brown spore encrustations on the caps of the bottom ones and I almost walked away when I saw, staring back at me from among the false prophets, seven small bays. I picked them and slowly walked away, conspicuously scanning the grass along the way.

After returning to my humble camode I ate 3 and placed the others into my old drying chamber (a small dresser placed over the heating vent) and went about watching Aeon Flux. The next morning, being fully aware that they would be much weaker, I decided to try smoking them.

I crumbled them, one cap or stipe at a time into my piece (Sparky) and tried to smoke them as quickly as I could so as to keep from completely pyrolizing them. The effect was soon manifested in the form of a light mist accumulating in my head. The feeling was very relaxing and soon intensified until I could 'feel' the presence of this fog everywhere and was amazed to find that I could see it until it occured to me that it was just smokey in my room. Soon after that I fell asleep.

The experience was calm and peaceful and had that karmicly tuned quality that I associate with D. inoxia root extract without the headache and eyestrain. Other than the above effects there was nothing realy specific about the experience. I'm still not sure whether there where short term memory effects involved or if the experience was just that weak. When I awoke both my pipe and the few remaining mushroom fragments where in my bed so I tend to conclude that I was relatively out of it by the time sleep found me.

What does remain clear in my mind is a pleasant experience.
