For quite some time now, my brother and I had wanted to try a full gram of THC in edible form. A company had released a 500mg mint chocolate cannabis/hash oil bar and the place I worked sold them for unbelievably cheap, so our experiment commenced.

The hash oil [in the] chocolate bar was most likely extracted by water, CO2, and/or butane and propane. The company used to specify but now the ingredients just say 'lab-tested cannabis oil'. I just wanted to be specific with the form of cannabis we were using, but this is all I have to go on.

What we did was simple and made consuming 2 fairly large chocolate bars much easier. Milk, being a fatty substance, and cannabinoids, being lipophilic or fat-loving, together are a very good delivery method. Fatty foods consumed with cannabis/hash seem to help maximize the overall effect. I personally do not know the exact science behind this, but from personal experience, such as eating an edible and not eating other food until many hours later and then feeling the effect of the edible, I feel I can say there is truth to this. I have also given this advice to others and everyone seems to agree.

We heated some whole milk in a sauce pan until it seemed hot enough to melt the chocolate bars. We melted 4 500mg bars into the hot milk to make ourselves each 1000mg THC infused super rich and tasty minty hot chocolate. It went down quickly and easily and actually tasted great!!

One important factor I almost forgot to mention in a cannabis edible experience is the experimenter's tolerance. Note that my brother's and my tolerance level were significantly high, no pun intended. Another tolerance nuance is tolerance of smoked cannabis vs. eaten cannabis. There sometimes seems to be a cross-tolerance, but other times not. Also, edibles effect people drastically differently, seemingly depending on biology. Either way, our smoking and edible tolerances were both up there.

The effects came on in about an hour, the same as lower doses. We thought it may come on stronger and more quickly, but it didn't.

Now, we got really high. I can't say that we weren't really high. However, it didn't reach a peak as high as we thought it would. What did happen, is that we were both high for well over 24 hours. More like a day and a half. We both woke up the next day high and spent most of that day being high. Mind you we smoked bowls, joints, bong hits, and took dabs during the experiment

So, phase one of our experiment disproved our hypothesis that 1000mg of hash oil would produce a psychedelic effect in us. We have pretty insane tolerances, but it still surprised us that we didn't peak higher. The length of the experience was the most surprising, as we have usually stayed high for 4-8 hours on edibles. It was a pleasant experience.
