DOSE:
10 mg oral 3,4-Dichloromethylphenidate
BODY WEIGHT: 155 lb
Set: Expected a relatively boring stimulant, as most are.
Setting: Home, the store, parents', home again.

Foreward: Quick rundown, I've tried Ethylphenidate, Isopropylphenidate, Methylphenidate, and HDMP-28 (out of this general family). Although ethylphenidate was fun, it did not help my attention span. The isopropyl version was worse, causing mild 'wavy' hallucination at higher dosages. HDMP-28 had a large amount of peripheral effects and blood pressure increase, while being weakly stimulating. My reasoning behind trying these things was a lack of a usual dextroamphetamine (5mg) prescription for several months, which was bringing my total lack of attention span into full swing. The timeline of 3,4-CTMP went something like this:

T+0:00 - Ingest 10mg early in the day, due to reports of duration.

T+1:00 - Maybe something happening, hard to tell.

T+2:00 - Now it's seemed to have reached full effects. A trip to the grocery store was generally what I would expect out of an equivalent ritalin dose.

Slight anti-depressant effects, a bit happier than usual, but not as distracted as usual. Also visited my parents for a bit, they told me I seemed in a better mood than I had been in a while and I explained why. I'm pretty open with them about that sort of thing.

T+3:00 - Upon arriving home and putting groceries away, I decided to take care of the garden mess and organize the garage a bit, two things in need of being done. Worked on these things for a couple hours, with an hour break to recharge the battery cell for the weed eater. Normally I have trouble re-focusing on a task after a break; no problem this time.

The rest of the time was spent cooking a pot of chili, a break to play some videogames and do some research, and some other household tasks. No anorexic effects were noted, and pulse / BP were normal for me.

T+10:00 - Effects seem to be wearing down, or I'm just getting tired.

T+12:00 - Effects either gone or none-notable. Sleep was relatively easy.

Note: I later tried this at 15mg with similar effects, but tinges of growing peripheral CNS effects / heart rate increase, and 20mg with BP increase and heart rate increase. Should probably not be taken at higher dosages than 15mg, 10mg was enough here.

Conclusions: This drug isn't a 'high' per se, it seems more like Methylphenidate. Useful at lower amounts for getting tasks done when attention span is low, but pushing dosage up only increases side effects. I would take again given the chance, but not in combination with other stimulants due to lack of available data. It *should* react in the same way as Methylphenidate in combinations but the duration is worrisome. It substituted very well for dextroamphetamine or ritalin, my personal suspicion is that the duration prevented it from being marketed rather than other effects. Stimulants generally have a reverse / limited effect on me with regards to sleep stabilization and ease of falling asleep, so whether it would keep someone else up too long can only be guessed at.
