A Promethazine Affair

My roommate had been having severe stomach issues, thus was prescribed Promethazine for nausea. After about a week of taking them, she came up to me and said 'you have to try these'. I don't take anything without researching it first, so when I saw it could be similar to Benadryl, I was a little hesitant. When my sister was younger, she used to take Dramamine and get super messed up, talking to dishwashers and calling them 'Mom', staring at random things for too long. However, I'm not usually one to turn something down due to someone else's experience. So she gave me 100mg to start with.

About an hour later, we were sitting and watching television, and a really stupid commercial came on, so I turned to her to say something. What that something was I'll never know because I got about 3 words out before I totally and completely forgot what I was saying. Oops! She just laughed and gave me another 50mgs, which I took immediately (for anti-nausea pills, they sure do taste bad). Soon, it seemed there were no real people in the room but myself, though my roommate was with me most of the time(I kept forgetting she was there though) which didn't really bother me at the time. Also any smudges, or cobwebs or the like seemed to be spelling messages for me, but I couldn't focus to read them. My memory goes a bit funny here, but my boyfriend came by, and apparently, when he walked in, I was having a very nice chat with my 'sister', who was actually a pile of clothes. Nothing seemed to bother me, I felt warm and happy, and if my boyfriend wanted to look at me like I was crazy, that was his prerogative. I spent the rest of the evening taking to the television, piles of clothing and books, and enjoying feeling warm, totally out of it, and happy.

Over the years, I've taken promethazine many times, at doses ranging from 75mgs to 200mgs. I enjoy it, really. The only downside I see is that it really dehydrates me, especially if I take more than 100mgs.
