“What's new on the street?”.
Clinical Pediatric Emergency Medicine. 2000 Jun;1(3):180-5.
Abstract
Substances of abuse and their pattern of recretional use change constantly. Websites can affect the popularity of drugs of abuse; as the epidemiology of drug use changes, unfamiliar clinical scenarios may arise in emergency departments. This report not only describes the clinical manifestations of previous termnewer streetnext term drugs, but also a means of accessing current information about these materials. The wide availability of emergency department-based Internet access enables clinicians to learn of the previous termstreetnext term entities they are treating. In this manner, clinicians are able to provide accurate therapy and patient education in real time, and to stay abreast of changing patterns of drug use.
