Abstract
Normal subjects exhibit "specific" reactions to 25-100 mcg. LSD: disturbances of self-awareness, ideation and perception. Chronic alcoholics do not exhibit these reactions, especially after delirium tremens. In Korsakow's syndrome the specific reactions are absent only when lower portions of the brain (medulla, midbrain) are affected. Delirium tremens produces symptoms which are similar to those produced by LSD but of a greater intensity.
