In 14 schizophrenic and 2 oligophrenic patients 80-480 mcg. LSD orally accentuated the pre-existing pathological behavior. For this reason shock therapy is considered of doubtful value. Schizophrenics made poorer response to LSD than oligophrenics. Latent or manifest disturbances of hepatic function in schizophrenics were made manifest or accentuated by LSD.
